House in Highgate

I had worked for these clients on a full house restoration 12 years before, but with 2 growing daughter’s they had out-grown that house and needed to find somewhere bigger and with a much larger garden. Their new purchase was a very tired, 4-storey house in desperate need of some TLC and which required five different planning permissions to achieve this. The project wasn’t without its challenges and mainly due to covid, the construction start date had to be postponed by 5 months. The house then turned out to be structurally unsound too and had to be virtually re-built. Then there were terrible material supply issues with long lead times but, as with all difficult projects, we got there in the end!! The garden originally sloped down away from the house so to enable the swimming pool installation it all had to be levelled which created an alarming amount of earth that had to be disposed of.
