3 Floor Apartment In Holland Park, London
Category: Modern | Private Residences
I was recommended for this job by Shipshape Construction Ltd. The apartment consisted of three quite bleak floors above a shop and the client was quite keen on the clean minimal and architectural look which I am known for. I re-configured the spaces to provide an open plan living/dining room/ kitchen on the first floor, leading out onto a roof terrace; a WC off the second floor landing and also a guest bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The top floor then had a dressing room off the landing plus the master bedroom and en-suite bathroom. The floors were a mixture of large format tiles and dark stained oak floors, all with under floor heating.
A complete surround sound system with built in plasma televisions was an important part of the brief, plus two state of the art modern fireplaces. I included a lot of floor lights for dramatic effect, and a complete low voltage lighting system to create a pleasing ambience. Because the client was very tall, the bespoke stainless steel and dark stained wood kitchen was made with an extra high worktop. There were structural implications for this job, so a structural engineer was employed prior to my finalising the working drawings and Building Control was involved also.
